Home Modifications/Environmental Assessments

Home Safety

As people age, task such as bathing & dressing or mobility in one’s home become difficult to complete. People should not have to deal with the unnecessary stress of assessing whether their home will suit their current and future needs. Home modification evaluations can be beneficial to assess one’s environment and address safety concerns.

At the Right Turn, home modification evaluations are offered to provide safe alternatives/environmental changes to ensure one can successfully “age in place”. We also provide my clients with additional resources to ease the financial burdens of the home modifications process (i.e., applications for state/federal funding programs, information on tax credits, adaptive equipment loaner closet information, etc.).

Examples of Home Modifications

Staying in one’s home is an important part of maintaining independence as one ages. To ensure safety in the home, modifications may be recommended to address current and future needs. Below are a few examples of home modifications:

  • ramps

  • stairlifts

  • walk-in showers

  • tub rails

  • stair and ramp treading

  • LED lights for hallways and bathrooms

  • tub cut-outs

  • grab bar installation

  • wheelchair accessible sinks

The Right Turn is committed to providing in-depth home modification evaluations to allowing clients to safely remain in their homes and communities. Our goal is to assist each client with the resources needed to continue living a meaningful and fulfilling lifestyle, despite medical and/or age-related changes.
